DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN Location: Red Oak, TX Pay: $20-$30/hr Work Environment Construction data center environment supporting a large-scale data center build. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with strict safety standards, extended overtime, and night shift operations. Schedule • 12-hour shifts • Current shift: 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM (night shift) • Monday-Saturday with potential Sunday work • 6-7 days per week • 72-84 hours per week available • Day shifts may become available during later project phases Compensation and Benefits Pay Rate: $20-$30/hr Duration: 4-month contract with potential extension and long-term opportunities If eligible, benefits may include: • Medical, Dental, Vision • Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital coverage • 401(k) Retirement Plan (Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available) • Voluntary Life & AD&D (employee + dependents) • Short-term and long-term disability • Health Spending Account (HSA) • Transportation benefits • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • Time Off / Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave) About the Role We are seeking experienced Data Center Technicians to support a large-scale data center expansion project. This role involves installing and supporting fiber optic and copper cabling infrastructure within a construction-based data center environment. Candidates should have prior data center experience and be comfortable working extended hours while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities • Pull and install fiber optic and copper cabling • Run, dress, label, and organize cables throughout the data center • Perform rack and stack activities • Terminate fiber and copper cabling • Install and connect pre-terminated fiber into cassettes • Work with backbone fiber including 144-count and 288-count fiber • Assist with fiber testing and troubleshooting activities • Utilize Fluke and OTDR equipment when applicable • Follow site safety procedures and data center standards • Maintain a clean and organized work area Required Skills & Experience • Minimum 1 year of data center infrastructure experience • Experience installing fiber optic and copper cabling • Experience pulling, running, dressing, and labeling cable • Experience with rack and stack activities • Experience performing fiber and copper terminations • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, nights, and extended overtime • Strong reliability, attendance, and work ethic • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction data center environment Top Skills – Must Haves: • Data center cabling experience • Fiber optic installation • Copper cabling installation • Rack and stack experience • Fiber/copper terminations • Cable pulling, routing, and dressing • Strong attendance and reliability • Team-player mentality and willingness to learn Nice-to-Have Skills: • Oracle data center experience • OTDR testing experience • Fluke testing experience • Fiber troubleshooting experience • Lead technician experience • Bilingual English/Spanish • OSHA 10 certification • Scissor lift certification Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Red Oak, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
