Data Center Technician Location: Red Oak, TX Project: Oracle Data Center Build (Building 10) Client: Vision Technologies Duration: 3-4 Months (Potential Extension Through Building 12) Employment Type: Contract with Potential Conversion to Full-Time Based on Performance About the Opportunity Vision Technologies, a national commercial and federal systems integrator, has secured a large-scale Oracle data center construction project in Red Oak, Texas. The team is seeking 60 Data Center Technicians to support the installation and deployment of critical infrastructure within a hyperscale data center environment. This is a high-profile project offering the opportunity to gain experience on a major data center build while working alongside experienced industry professionals. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance may have the opportunity to extend on future phases of the project and potentially convert to a full-time employee. Key Responsibilities Install, pull, route, and dress fiber optic and copper cabling throughout the data center environment. Perform rack-and-stack activities for network and infrastructure equipment. Install and connect pre-terminated fiber into fiber cassettes and patch panels. Label, organize, and manage cable pathways according to data center standards. Perform fiber and copper terminations. Assist with fiber testing and troubleshooting using Fluke and OTDR equipment. Support backbone fiber installations, including 144-count and 288-count fiber. Maintain quality standards, safety requirements, and project-specific installation procedures. Work collaboratively with project teams in a fast-paced construction environment. Required Qualifications Previous data center installation experience. Experience pulling, installing, dressing, and terminating fiber optic and/or copper cabling. Familiarity with rack-and-stack activities and structured cabling infrastructure. Ability to read, understand, and follow installation standards and project requirements. Willingness and ability to work extended shifts in an active construction environment. Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Experience testing and troubleshooting fiber and copper cabling using Fluke testers and OTDR equipment. Experience with hyperscale data center projects. Lead technician experience or experience mentoring junior technicians. Strong understanding of fiber optic infrastructure and best practices. Schedule 12-hour shifts 6-7 days per week Current shift: Night Shift (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM) Future phases may include both Day and Night shifts Must be flexible to work weekends, including Sundays, as project needs require Employees will be required to report to a designated shuttle location prior to each shift for transportation to the job site Training & Onboarding Requirements Oracle Orientation October 5 (onsite) Vision Technologies onboarding TEKsystems onboarding OSHA 10 certification required Scissor Lift certification required Candidates are responsible for obtaining required certifications prior to starting Screening Requirements Drug screening required prior to employment Random onsite drug testing throughout project duration Screening conducted through Oracle during orientation Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times onsite Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for dependable technicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess: Strong attendance and reliability Positive attitude and team-first mentality Growth mindset and willingness to learn Ability to work safely and efficiently under demanding schedules Commitment to quality workmanship and project success Top Skills Data Center Infrastructure Fiber Optic Installation Copper Cabling Installation Rack & Stack Structured Cabling Fiber Termination Pre-Terminated Fiber Systems OTDR Testing Fluke Testing Hardware Installation & Troubleshooting Experience Level: Intermediate Note: Candidates must be comfortable working extended hours, including nights and weekends, in a construction-focused data center environment. This project offers significant overtime potential and the opportunity to work on a major Oracle hyperscale data center deployment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Red Oak, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
