Preschool Paraprofessional (Teacher Assistant) � Part-Time Job Summary The Preschool Paraprofessional supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool students. The paraprofessional assists with implementing student goals and objectives, supporting individual student needs, and maintaining a positive classroom environment. The position works under the direction of the classroom teacher and administration and collaborates with teachers, related service providers, and other school personnel. Essential Responsibilities Assist the teacher with daily classroom instruction, activities, and routines. Support students in meeting individual goals and objectives. Assist with student supervision, transitions, meals, recess, and other activities. Promote positive behavior and an inclusive, respectful classroom environment. Help prepare materials and maintain an organized, safe classroom. Collaborate professionally with school staff and maintain student confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Candidates must meet applicable state and district requirements, including one of the following: Minimum of 48 hours of college credit; or High school diploma and a minimum composite ACT score of 21; or High school diploma and successful completion of a reading and writing competency assessment. Experience working with preschool children or in an educational setting is preferred.
