Hiring Agency Education & Labor Cabinet | Department of Workforce Development Location 500 Mero Street, 1st Floor Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet advances education, workforce development, and economic opportunity across the Commonwealth. The Cabinet provides education and training programs, employment and reemployment services, unemployment insurance, and disability determination services to help Kentuckians gain skills, find work, and maintain economic stability. It partners with education providers, workforce boards, and employers to align training with labor market needs and oversees labor programs that promote fair and safe workplaces. The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation empowers individuals with disabilities to maximize employment, achieve economic self-sufficiency and independence, and to contribute back to society. We also help businesses and employers recruit, retain, and accommodate employees with disabilities. We are seeking an Administrative Specialist Senior to provide high-level professional administrative support to internal staff and leadership related to an agency's business operations. Perform duties in the oversight of intricate processes such as activities involving mandated regulations or procedures, comprehensive research, or collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and perform other duties as required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for responding to inquiries and maintaining extensive data regarding complex vocational rehabilitation training services and programs. Provides support to the agency Training Branch in the tracking and monitoring of documentation and training data required by federal and state entities to ensure agency compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Uses multiple learning management systems for tracking of training and development projects. Provides extensive reports for federal, state and agency training mandates. Assists with development and dissemination of training needs for the agency to promote continuous improvement efforts and outreach. Maintains multiple databases, spreadsheets and other software applications to compile complex programmatic information related to the Certification for Rehabilitation Counselors and the Federal Comprehensive System of Personnel Development state plan reports, and the tracking of other trainings within the agency. Utilizes technology, social media, web development, and other platforms to provide support to the agency and promotion of agency events. Maintains agency website to ensure information is updated to the public. Provides support for in-person, virtual and hybrid meetings related to training projects. Serves as point of contact for complex program questions. Works with professional certifying bodies to secure continuing education credits for agency approved certifications. Performs other duties as required. This position will have access to confidential and sensitive information. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
