Thanks for your interest in working on our team! We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Corporate Tax Department in Warren, MI. The tax manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing comprehensive federal and state tax compliance for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. This role manages the end-to-end preparation and review of tax returns, ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, and leads process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency. In addition, the Tax Manager will assist with quarterly income tax provision work, supporting financial reporting and collaborating closely with accounting leadership. This position is fully onsite Monday through Friday in Warren, MI. Responsibilities: • Tax Compliance Management — Lead preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts, ensuring timely and accurate filings. • Technical Tax Expertise — Research complex tax issues, interpret regulations, and provide guidance on tax positions and planning opportunities. • Income Tax Accounting — Assist with ASC 740 quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, including deferred tax analysis and supporting schedules. • Process Improvement — Develop and refine workflows, checklists, and review procedures to increase efficiency and reduce risk. • Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner with accounting and finance to support tax reporting, audits, and strategic initiatives. • Team Leadership — Mentor junior staff, provide training, and oversee work quality and professional development. • Compliance Monitoring — Stay current on federal and state tax law changes and ensure compliance across all filing categories. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred • 6–10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax • Strong knowledge of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust taxation • Experience with ASC 740 and quarterly tax provision work • Proficiency with tax preparation software and Excel • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and lead projects independently Preferred Skills: • Experience in a large corporate environment or multi-entity structure • Familiarity with Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS • Experience with international compliance Benefits including- major medical, dental, vision, 401K, and paid time off!
