Job Summary The Senior Manager, Procurement oversees supplier management and procurement operations for Mercury Systems’ Phoenix location. This leader is responsible for developing procurement strategies that support operational excellence, ensure continuity of supply, optimize cost, and uphold Mercury’s standards for quality, security, and supplier performance. The role partners closely with engineering, program management, operations, and quality teams to support production needs and drive enterprise-wide supply chain initiatives. Job Responsibilities Develop and execute long-range procurement strategies aligned with Mercury Systems’ business objectives. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across complex commodities, materials, and services. Establish procurement policies, procedures, and best practices. Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and corrective action processes. Oversee daily procurement activities including purchasing, planning, expediting, and material readiness. Drive cost reduction programs without compromising quality or delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support NPI, engineering changes, and program schedules. Ensure compliance with all company policies, government regulations, and industry standards, including FAR/DFARS where applicable. Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies, including supplier diversification and inventory optimization. Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals; build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Provide direction on workload distribution, performance management, career development, and training. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field. Typically requires 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, with 3+ years of people leadership experience. Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and procurement operations. Strong knowledge of manufacturing environments and supply chain best practices. Ability to analyze complex data, forecast needs, and make strategic decisions. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-technology manufacturing. Knowledge of FAR/DFARS, ITAR, or other regulated industry requirements. Master’s degree or professional certifications (CPSM, CPM, CSCP).
