Solution Director, Data and AI

About the role

Rackspace is   seeking   a highly accomplished Solution Director,   Data &   AI to lead the design and   technical   sales   aspects   of   a portfolio spanning   enterprise AI platform implementations on Palantir Foundry and AIP as the primary focus, alongside Generative AI/LLM solutions and data modernization architectures.   This pivotal role requires mastery across   thes e domains - positioning Palantir Foundry and AIP as the ontology-driven backbone for operational AI and decision intelligence, leveraging generative AI capabilities to drive executive conversations and opportunity creation, and delivering enterprise data modernization through   modern data   architectures using leading platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.   The position demands cross-functional experience with proven ability to engage C-level stakeholders, drive top-of-funnel opportunity creation, and   maintain   comprehensive account ownership across the entire customer lifecycle.    The ideal candidate will excel at   operationalizing decision intelligence through Palantir Foundry/AIP,   selling the vision of generative AI transformation,   and   delivering the reality of   enterprise data modernization - combining deep technical   expertise   with exceptional business acumen and executive presence.   Work Location: United States of America/ Travel up to 25% per business requirements to customer sites and   industry   events  -  If located near the Rackspace headquarters in San Antonio, TX, you’ll work a hybrid schedule… two days in the office and three days working from home. ·     If not located near San Antonio, TX, you may work 100% remotely.  Sponsorship This role is not sponsorship eligible. Candidates need to be legally allowed to work in the US for any employer Strategic Leadership & Opportunity Development   - Drive top-of-funnel opportunity creation through parallel tracks:   opening enterprise AI platform conversations anchored in Palantir Foundry and AIP working demonstrations,   engaging C-level stakeholders with generative AI demonstrations,   and   identifying   data modernization needs for Lakehouse transformations   - Lead the design and architecture of   the solution portfolio:   Palantir Enterprise AI Platforms: Foundry data integration and ontology design, AIP application development, operational workflows, and decision intelligence   solutions   Generative AI Solutions: RAG architectures and custom LLM solutions, including Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Q deployments   Data Modernization: Modern data architectures using Databricks and Snowflake, with AWS-native services (Glue, SageMaker Unified Studio) as supporting component s   - Act as the trusted advisor positioning Palantir Foundry/AIP as the operational backbone for decision intelligence,   generative AI as the transformational vision,   and grounding delivery in robust data platform modernization   - Develop compelling business cases   anchored in Palantir Foundry/AIP operational deployments   that connect AI aspirations with practical data foundation requirements,   demonstrating   ROI across   the portfolio   - Stay current with advancements in   Palantir Foundry/AIP capabilities (ontology-driven applications, agentic workflows),   generative AI (foundation models, LLMs),   and   modern data architectures (Lakehouse patterns, data mesh, unified analytics)   - Contribute to Rackspace intellectual property through reference architectures covering   Palantir Foundry/AIP solution patterns,   generative AI implementations,   and   data modernization   design patterns   Customer Engagement & Solution Delivery   - Serve as the primary technical executive orchestrating   Palantir Foundry/AIP platform engagements,   generative AI discussions,   and   data modernization programs for strategic accounts   - Build strategic relationships   across   engagement models:   Platform Level: Palantir Foundry/AIP workshops, ontology design sessions, and build-vs-buy platform evaluations (Foundry vs Databricks vs AWS-native)   Executive   Level:   art - of-the-possible sessions   and generative AI demonstrations   Technical Level: modern data architecture workshops and platform assessments (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS-native), migration planning   - Lead comprehensive consultative engagements   anchored in Palantir Foundry/AIP operational deployments, informed by generative AI   vision   and translated into concrete data modernization roadmaps   - Develop Statements of Work (SOWs) that balance Palantir Foundry/AIP implementation scope,   innovative AI capabilities,   and foundational data platform requirements    - Guide customers through parallel journeys:   Palantir Foundry/AIP adoption (ontology design to production decision intelligence),   generative AI adoption (POCs to production),   and   data platform modernization (legacy to Lakehouse)   - Collaborate with sales teams positioning   the solution portfolio   strategically based on customer maturity and needs   Technical Excellence & Market Awareness   Maintain deep   expertise   across   th e solution domains:   Palantir Enterprise AI Platforms:   Foundry data integration and ontology design, AIP application development, operational workflows, decision intelligence, and platform governance   Generative AI:   prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Q   Data Platforms:   Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, with AWS-native services (Glue, SageMaker Unified Studio, Redshift, EMR) as supporting components   - Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of how Palantir Foundry/AIP operationalizes   generative AI and modern data foundations   through ontology-driven architectures   - Guide architectural decisions on build vs. buy for enterprise AI operating platforms such as Palantir Foundry/AIP, AI capabilities, and data platform components   Qualifications   Required Experience   Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions on Palantir Foundry and AIP: data modeling, pipeline development, ontology design, operational workflows, and AI-driven decision intelligence applic ations   Deep experience with generative AI technologies: LLM architectures, RAG implementations, Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Q   Proven   track record   delivering data modernization: modern data architectures, Databricks and/or Snowflake implementations, with AWS Glue/EMR as supporting component s   - At least 5 years as a senior-level architect or solutions leader with hands-on experience across   Palantir Foundry/AIP implementations,   AI/ML,   and   data platform modernization   - Demonstrated success engaging C-level executives   on   Palantir Foundry/AIP decision intelligence solutions, generative AI demonstrations, and complex data platform transformations   - Strong understanding across the full spectrum:   Enterprise AI Platforms:   Palantir Foundry, AIP, ontology-driven architectures, knowledge graphs, operational AI governance   AI/ML: Generative AI, foundation models, LLMs, traditional ML, prompt engineering, fine-tuning   Data   Platforms:   modern   data architectures, data mesh, ETL/ELT, streaming, data governance, data quality   - Proven ability to articulate   Palantir Foundry/AIP operational value,   visionary AI possibilities,   and   practical data platform requirements to diverse audiences     Preferred Qualifications   - Experience with   the Palantir partner ecosystem, and with   AWS professional services or AWS partner ecosystem, across AI and data domains   - Hands-on experience with:   Enterprise AI operating platforms such as Palantir Foundry/AIP, and knowledge graphs, semantic modeling, and ontology-driven data management   Multiple AI platforms: AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI   Multiple Lakehouse platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, AWS-native (Glue + Athena + Redshift)   Industry certifications:   Palantir: Foundry Foundations, Data Engineer, or AIP certification (or ability to certify within   90 days   of hire)   AWS:   Solutions Architect Professional,   Machine Learning Specialty, Data Analytics Specialty   Platform specific: Databricks Certified, Snowflake SnowPro   - Experience with regulated industries requiring governance across   Palantir Foundry/AIP, AI, and data   platforms   - Track record   building practices that deliver   Palantir Foundry/AIP implementations,   generative AI solutions,   and   data modernization programs   - Published thought leadership in enterprise AI platforms such as Palantir Foundry/AIP, generative AI applications, and/or modern data architectures   - Proficiency   in Python, SQL, and Spark with hands-on experience in:   Palantir: Foundry pipeline development, ontology modeling, AIP application building   Generative AI:   LangChain, vector databases, embedding mode ls   Data Engineering:   PySpark, Apache Iceberg/Delta Lake, orchestration tools     Educational Requirements   - Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The compensation range for this position ranges from $192,610.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to 338,993.60 USD/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
