Req ID: 32672 Department: Pulmonary & Critical Care - Raleigh Work Location: WakeMed Raleigh Campus Location: Raleigh, North Carolina Employment Type: ['Supplemental'] FTE: ['0.20'] Hours of Work: ['PRN'] Weekend Requirements: As Needed Call Requirements: ['No'] Overview WakeMed Physician Practices is a multi-specialty group with over  500  physicians in a variety of specialty areas.  Our organization places a high value on quality, caring and compassionate  physicians  and we are committed to providi ng  state-of-the- art  health care to our patients and the community we serve.         We are currently seeking physicians with an interest and fellowship training in Critical Care/Pulmonology to join our group in Raleigh, NC. Our team currently consists of 16 physicians and 4 A P P's. Our physicians provide inpatient critical care at WakeMed as well as inpatient pulmonology services and  eICU  coverage. Typical procedures include bronchoscopy, central lines, intubation,  thoracentesis  among others.  Typical  full-time schedule is approximately 16 in-house shifts per month. Nightshifts are  supported  with  eICU  cross-coverage and  assistance. Fantastic opportunity for those who have an interest in clinical teaching as our physicians also supervise second-year ED residents who rotate through our ICUs. Sleep training  a plus  but not  required. Qualified candidates must be BE/BC.      Physicians in this role will provide high-quality clinical care while also participating in the teaching and supervision of residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers. Additional responsibilities include accurate documentation and coding, adherence to compliance standards, and participation in administrative and quality-related activities within the practice.   This position reports to the Division Director and supports the mission, values, and strategic direction of WakeMed Physician Practices.   Ideal candidates will bring: Board certification or board eligibility in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine Strong clinical skills in both ICU and pulmonary medicine Interest in working within a collaborative, team-based practice model Commitment to quality, patient safety, teaching, and continuous improvement Excellent communication skills and a collegial approach to multidisciplinary care This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected, high-functioning Pulmonary and Critical Care team within a leading health system in one of the fastest-growing and most desirable regions of North Carolina.   Department Description Serving the community since 1961, WakeMed Health & Hospitals is the leading provider of health services in Wake County.
