About the role

The Network Administrator is responsible for the build, support, administration, and optimization of the network and associated hardware and software. This role deploys and troubleshoots small-scale to medium network deployments, conducts routine tests to ensure operability of the network, and identifies network needs and capabilities from an end-user perspective. The Network Administrator troubleshoots intermediary network problems and escalates large-scale network issues appropriately.   Key Responsibilities Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems. Install, configure, manage, and maintain network infrastructure devices as well as all related hardware and software. Identify network needs and capabilities from an end-user perspective. Monitor the network to maintain integrity and operability. Deploy and troubleshoot small-scale to medium network deployments. Conduct appropriate tests to ensure the proper working condition of developed and purchased network systems. Monitor network performance and perform intermediary network restoration/recovery actions. Responsible for operations, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications such as voice, video, and data transport and associated hardware.   Required Qualifications Active DoD Secret clearance required. Experience with industry router configurations and switch configurations. Knowledge of, and the ability to practically apply, necessary testing, practices, and procedures. Good oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Intermediate diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Working technical knowledge of network infrastructure including local area networks, wide area networks, wireless networking, routers, switches, load balancers, WAN optimizers, and cabling standards. Solid troubleshooting abilities through techniques and methods that isolate and identify faulty components or configurations so services can be quickly restored to normal levels of operation. Experience troubleshooting network connectivity (LAN, WAN). CompTIA Network+ and/or CCNA certification CompTIA Security+ certification   Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 2-5 years of experience in network administration.   Qualifications Compensation Ranges Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role.
