Lead Security Officer - Corporate Headquarters Location: Downtown Houston, TX Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour DOE Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Overnight) Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and professional Lead Security Officer to oversee overnight security operations at a prestigious corporate headquarters and high-rise office complex located in Downtown Houston. This leadership role is responsible for supervising Security Officers, supporting daily security operations, coordinating incident response activities, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and property assets. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with strong security experience, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to make sound decisions in a professional corporate environment. The Lead Security Officer serves as the primary point of contact during overnight operations and is expected to lead by example while maintaining the highest standards of security, customer service, and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision Provide direct supervision and guidance to Security Officers during assigned shifts. Conduct shift briefings and communicate post assignments, priorities, and operational updates. Monitor officer performance and ensure compliance with post orders, policies, and procedures. Serve as the first point of contact for officer questions, concerns, and escalations. Assist with training, coaching, and development of security personnel. Promote professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence across the team. Security Operations Monitor and oversee security operations throughout a multi-story corporate headquarters and high-rise environment. Conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior property areas. Monitor access control systems, CCTV surveillance systems, alarms, and security technologies. Respond to and manage incidents, emergencies, and security concerns in accordance with site procedures. Coordinate with building management, emergency responders, and corporate stakeholders when necessary. Ensure proper documentation of incidents, activities, and shift operations. Incident Response Lead response efforts during security incidents and emergency situations. Investigate and document security violations, safety concerns, and unusual activities. Ensure timely reporting and escalation of incidents. Maintain situational awareness and support business continuity efforts during critical events. Customer Service Maintain a professional and visible security presence. Interact effectively with employees, executives, visitors, and vendors. Resolve issues professionally while delivering exceptional customer service. Support a welcoming and secure corporate environment. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or a related field. Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience in security or a related industry required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience writing incident reports and conducting investigations. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations. Proficiency with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to pass all required background screenings and training requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a corporate headquarters, high-rise, Class A office, or critical infrastructure environment. Experience with access control systems, CCTV monitoring, and alarm management platforms. Familiarity with emergency response and incident management procedures. Prior military, law enforcement, or corporate security leadership experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to patrol multiple floors and large property areas. Ability to use stairs when necessary. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to respond quickly and effectively during emergency situations.
