About the role

As Brand Strategy Lead you’ll be responsible for providing strategic thought leadership to drive high-priority firmwide objectives such as naming, brand architecture development, exceptional client experiences design, impactful storytelling and deploying on-brand assets.  The Brand Strategy Lead will be at the center to help teams such as internal creative, agencies, and marketing partners distill the right information, build clear strategies, and implement the right resources to create best-in-class creative outputs that drive the brand, user experiences and our teams forward. You’ll help set the tone of the team, managing multiple projects, strategies, stakeholders, agencies, and timelines closely. Job responsibilities Lead Brand Architecture and Naming Define brand architecture frameworks/product portfolios across business and consumer lines to improve client experiences and scale our product portfolios. Work with cross functional marketing teams and agency partners to map out brand hierarchies, sub-brands, products, features, platforms, etc. helping to create clear go to market roadmaps. Provide strategic recommendations for brand extensions and how to balance a hybrid brand strategy across Chase and J.P. Morgan. Develop and execute comprehensive naming strategies that align to the overarching product portfolio systems and aide the go to market strategy for our business partners.  Own Strategic Thought Leadership & Ideation  Partner with lines of business to identify priority initiatives, RTBs, audiences, deliverables, etc… to ensure business objectives are achieved. Have pen to paper on strategic marketing and creative briefs that deliver effective go-to-market assets and materials. Develop and deploy brand identity and strategy for key lines of business, products, services and new launches.  Develop and Drive Brand Presentations and Narratives Create impactful executive level presentations that visualize path forward recommendations.  Influence all levels of leadership and backgrounds, including C-suite, by bringing stakeholders on the brand journey Communicate seamlessly across multiple teams and skillsets to simplify the complex. Secure alignment cross functional business and marketing partners. Focus on Client-focused Experience Design  Design and implement simplified client experience strategies that enhance brand interactions and foster loyalty for J.P. Morgan. Be the champion of the client/customer. Partner with cross functional teams to develop customer journey strategies and mappings to ensure seamless brand experiences. Collaborate with designers and marketers to optimize brand experiences across digital and physical touchpoints.  Maintain Strategic Insights & Competitive Analysis Partner with insights teams to analyze market trends, consumer behavior, competitive landscapes, and overall brand health to inform optimal strategies and recommendations. Understand and educate partners on our direct competitors, emerging competitors, our industry, new technology and developing sectors in commercial and investment banking.  Translate insights into strategic and actionable plans across stakeholders and senior leadership. Project Management Lead and manage multiple projects from concept through execution ensuring high quality outputs that are on time, on strategy and on brand.  Manage stakeholders firmwide partnering with teams including creative, marketing, corporate strategy, digital/tech and senior leadership to drive project success. Maintain strong relationships, providing expert guidance and ensuring project team success throughout the project life cycle.   Required qualifications, capabilities and skills: In addition to a strong understanding of financial institutions, a sound strategic mindset and a passion for creativity, simplifying the complex, identifying relevant cultural drivers, and delivering innovative brand solutions the ideal candidate for this role will have:  10+ years of relevant brand strategy experience within a large financial institution or as a strategist or planner with relevant client experience at a brand focused agency. Deep understanding of our business, the industry in which we work and the competitive landscape. Exceptional communicator and strong presenter, commanding the attention of listeners with a clear, concise point of view and persuasive communication skills. Expertise in brand strategy, encompassing architecture, creative systems, naming, and user experience across channels.  Strong analytic skills and the ability to decode market insights.  Strong proficiency in project management and delivering work within a fast-paced matrixed environment.  Strong interpersonal skills to build solid work relationships -- ability to influence others, maintain openness to diverse perspectives and easily gain trust and support of peers. Ability to clearly and rationally analyze complex brand strategy challenges, with a demonstrated history of applying your ideas to drive long-term brand improvements. Experience working with internal creative teams and external agencies on a wide range of needs such as visual identity, brand architecture and storytelling, naming and experiential and creative development.   Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills: Action-oriented, willing to tackle challenges, pro-actively seeks opportunities and solutions.
