Posting number: 01596 Department: Information Technology Job classification: IT Business Analyst Posting type: Open Categories: IT and Computers Summary Brunswick County is looking for an  IT Business Analyst to join our Information Technology Department.  The Business Analyst provides integrated, advanced technical, developmental, and user support to assigned departments within the County.  Work includes:  Researching, analyzing, and defining complex user problems and requirements.  Acting independently as a liaison between department subject matter experts and manufacturers for successful integration and implementation of applications. Developing and maintaining solutions and associated procedures. Serving as SharePoint Administrator.   The Business Analyst provides a wide range of technical support, problem resolution, application integration and educational services to users on both hardware and software issues while maintaining confidentiality of all privileged information.  This position reports directly to the IT Business Analyst Supervisor. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field AND five (5) years of related programming and applications experience;  OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. MS SharePoint experience is required. Familiarity with MS Power Platform and Power BI preferred. Must possess a valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver license. Excellent problem-solving skills, client management/interpersonal skills, communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to work effectively as part of a team is required.   Additional Required Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of principles of computer hardware, software, and networking with ITIL best practices; programming languages; SQL or relational database; various software applications; and basic business principles.   Skilled in analyzing end-user system and program needs; designing system processes and software applications; configuring systems and software; researching computer topics via online sources; preparing and conducting training sessions; and communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.   Physical Requirements Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 20 pounds) and occasionally heavier weight (up to 40 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
