High School Athletic Director

About the role

*This position is contingent upon the Board of Education's approval of the current athletic director's resignation.   Requirements High School Diploma or GED Pending Employment Criminal Background Check Drug Test Job Description            Coordinate and supervise all athletic events in cooperation with the building principal. Assist administration in determining scholastic eligibility. Schedule all athletic activities and arrange and prepare.transportation schedules for all athletic trips. Enforce all state athletic regulations as set by WVSSAC. Supervise and coordinate budgets for all sports. Supervise athletic facilities and coordinate maintenance and repairs. Act as consultant to the administration and coaching personnel on matters pertaining to the athletic program.  Recommend and evaluate coaching personnel if directed by the building principal. Meet periodically with coaching staff to keep coaches informed of athletic policies and procedures. Act as tournament manager for all conference events assigned to the school. Coordinate athletic events, including release of publicity, pre-game and half-time programs, supervision of press box, medical support, printed schedules, obtaining adequate personnel to supervise events, and serve as liaison between school and visiting coaches and officials. Coordinate all fund raisers and act as advisor to Booster Organizations. Verify Insurance Coverage for team participants.   Qualifications Teacher Certification/WVSSAC Training.  Experience as head coach at the middle or high school level preferred.  Administrative certificate preferred.
