We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Group Sales Manager to join our team and help grow group business for Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and The Lodge & Club. The Group Sales Manager is responsible for generating group room revenue, developing new business opportunities, and managing client relationships throughout the sales process. This position actively prospects for new business, manages assigned accounts, prepares proposals and contracts, conducts site tours, and works closely with resort departments to ensure a seamless transition from sales through program execution. Qualifications • College degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. • Minimum of 3–5 years of group sales experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or a related hospitality environment preferred. • Proven ability to prospect for new business, develop client relationships, negotiate agreements, and achieve established revenue goals. • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously. • Experience with computer applications, Delphi, Salesforce CRM, or similar sales management systems preferred. • Ability to travel for client meetings, sales calls, tradeshows, networking events, and other business development activities. • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative sales team environment. • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Job Responsibilities • Develop, solicit, and secure new group business within assigned markets and segments while maximizing guestroom, meeting space, food and beverage, and other resort revenue opportunities. • Manage assigned accounts and develop strong relationships with meeting planners, corporate clients, associations, incentive organizations, and other group customers to generate new, repeat, and referral business. • Proactively prospect for new business through outside sales calls, telephone and email outreach, networking events, sales missions, client presentations, and other business development activities. • Respond promptly to group inquiries and maintain consistent follow-up throughout the sales process with a strong focus on converting qualified opportunities into definite business. • Prepare professional proposals, presentations, contracts, and other sales correspondence tailored to client needs and reflective of Ponte Vedra Beach Resorts' luxury service standards. • Negotiate group agreements and strategically close business opportunities while balancing client needs, revenue objectives, availability, and overall resort business considerations. • Accurately secure guestroom blocks and meeting space that best support client requirements while maximizing revenue opportunities for the resorts. • Conduct property tours and site inspections for prospective clients, professionally presenting the features, amenities, services, and benefits of Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and The Lodge & Club. • Represent Ponte Vedra Beach Resorts at industry tradeshows, conferences, networking events, sales missions, client events, and other business development opportunities. • Maintain accurate and complete account information, sales activities, correspondence, production, and pipeline progress within Delphi/Salesforce CRM and other departmental systems. • Consistently meet or exceed established quarterly and annual room revenue and sales activity goals. • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, account developments, and emerging business opportunities to support continued revenue growth. • Coordinate the accurate and timely turnover of contracted groups to Conference Services and other resort departments, ensuring all sales commitments and client expectations are clearly communicated. • Maintain appropriate contact with clients and meeting planners following the sale and while groups are on property to support client satisfaction, relationship development, and future business opportunities. • Build strong working relationships with Conference Services, Catering, Revenue Management, Reservations, Resort Operations, and other departments to support the successful execution of group programs. • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and The Lodge & Club, including accommodations, meeting facilities, amenities, services, and resort operations, to effectively represent both properties to clients. • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Group Sales or Director of Sales. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events. • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds. Schedule • Full-Time Position. • Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours based on business needs and client schedules. • Travel is required for client meetings, sales calls, tradeshows, sales missions, networking events, and other business development activities.
