Full Time - Assistant Athletic Director The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time - Assistant Athletic Director at our Brenham Campus. Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below: Job Summary An Assistant Athletic Director provides administrative leadership and management to Intercollegiate Athletics. Responsible for NJCAA academic eligibility for student athletes. Supervise the coordination of athletic events, helping to lead the athletic department and college in achieving their mission and goals. Principal Accountabilities 1. Responsible for NJCAA eligibility for all sports, to include all transfer paperwork, break in enrollment, academic transcripts, all student athletes class schedules, calculate NJCAA academic requirements, enter into NJCAA eligibility database, secure proper signatures. 2. Responsible for game day management for all sports, to include verifying officials for sporting events, securing workers for game day staffing of events, approving pay sheets for officials and staff, prepare game day programs. 3. Coordinate with proper Blinn, BISD and City of Brenham officials regarding athletic facilities. 4. Serve as primary contact for Blinn Athletic Events 5. Compile weekly hourly reports for student athletes eligibility. 6. Complete transfer verification to 4 year universities or transfer tracker to junior colleges. 7. Calculate NJCAA academic awards and Don Wilhelm Athletic Directors Honor Roll. 8. Assist with Buccaneer Backer Club membership, golf tournament, and sponsorships. 9. Representing the department on committees and at various events; and doing the work necessary for the department to remain successful. 10. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications Bachelors degree Minimum Competencies 1. Knowledge of NJCAA Division I rules regarding student athlete academics 2. Junior College higher administration experience 3. Two (2) years experience in related field or/and equivalent combination of training and experience. 4. Proven leadership and organizational skills with a commitment to the academic achievement and personal growth of the student athlete. 5. Position requires flexible work hours. 6. Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Products, Outlook, etc. 7. Experience scheduling athletic contests, working with scheduling software 8. Ability to communicate, direct, plan and lead athletic professionals and staff 9. Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work 10. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally and effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community 11. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing 12. Strong customer service skills 13. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure and deadlines 14. Knowledge of budget and cost estimating principles and procedures Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree Preferred Competencies Experience in athletic event operations preferred with preference in the collegiate athletic setting. Special Notes To Applicants This is an on-campus position. This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits.
