Job Summary: As a Financial Operations Intern supporting the Commissions team, you will play a key role in the execution of day-to-day activities. You’ll support managers and staff with critical operational tasks that require precision, analytical thinking, and organizational skills. Throughout the internship, you’ll gain exposure to multiple systems and processes while learning how Valmark conducts business and compensates its registered representatives. This role provides an excellent foundation for students interested in pursuing careers in finance, operations, or data analytics. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Maintain data associated with Agent of Record changes, helping ensure advisor and account information remains accurate across systems Monitor, update, and correct representative codes tied to accounts involved in AOR changes Support reconciliation efforts for Third-Party Money Manager accounts, collaborating with external vendors to resolve discrepancies Research and help resolve commission payment discrepancies to support accurate and timely processing Verify account statuses across multiple systems to ensure timely and accurate commission processing Participate in special projects and process-improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations Related Qualities: Our ideal candidate has the following qualities: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Curiosity and willingness to learn Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities Analytical and problem-solving skills Clear written and verbal communication Ability to collaborate effectively with others Openness to feedback and continuous improvement Comfort working with data and learning new systems Requirements: Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship Currently enrolled in and pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field Availability to work onsite in Akron, OH: 16–24 hours per week during spring and fall semester 30–40 hours per week during summer months Pay: $20 per hour Pay: $20 per hour
