About the role

FULL-TIME DAYS The Electrician perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and components. Responsible for  ensuring all work complies with safety codes and regulations. Role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, and making  necessary repairs or replacements. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other  related duties as assigned. General Functions:  Performs electrical assignments for facility  Department/Business Unit Function:  Installing, operating, and maintaining wiring, control systems, lighting, and equipment systems in various settings  Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving electrical problems using various testing devices  Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams to plan and execute electrical work  Understanding and applying the principles of electrical theory and codes, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC)  Following safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)  May provide guidance and training to others, including apprentices, less experienced electricians, or maintenance technicians  Assisting with the planning and coordination of electrical projects  Maintains P.M. program on electrical system in hospital including but not limited to emergency generators and HVAC electrical systems  Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including work orders, schematics, and other documentation  Communicating effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other stakeholders  May be required to perform after-hours emergency calls, respond to after-hours service calls, and assist in ordering materials and supplies  Participates in Performance Improvement activities MINIMUM EDUCATION:  High School Graduate or equivalent  PREFERRED EDUCATION:  Trade School MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:  3 to 5 years in electrical trade.  PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  Knowledge in mechanical, plumbing, electrical and carpentry REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:  Possession of current Journeyman Electrician license with San Antonio PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:  Possession of current Master Electrician license with San Antonio #LI-JH5  Northeast Baptist Hospital Hospital is committed to providing exceptional patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
