About the role
At Genmab, we are dedicated to building extra[not]ordinary® futures, together, by developing antibody products and groundbreaking, knock-your-socks-off KYSO antibody medicines® that change lives and the future of cancer treatment and serious diseases. We strive to create, champion and maintain a global workplace where individuals’ unique contributions are valued and drive innovative solutions to meet the needs of our patients, care partners, families and employees. Our people are compassionate, candid, and purposeful, and our business is innovative and rooted in science. We believe that being proudly authentic and determined to be our best is essential to fulfilling our purpose. Yes, our work is incredibly serious and impactful, but we have big ambitions, bring a ton of care to pursuing them, and have a lot of fun while doing so. Does this inspire you and feel like a fit? Then we would love to have you join us! The Opportunity Genmab is creating the Director, Global Commercialization, Advanced Analytics & AI role to build and govern a cohesive AI-enabled analytics capability within the Business Intelligence & Analytics function. This is a foundational role at a pivotal moment: Genmab's commercial portfolio is growing in complexity, the demand for faster and more confident decision-making is accelerating, and the opportunity to embed artificial intelligence into commercial operations has never been more actionable. The Director, Advanced Analytics & AI will operate as an individual contributor with significant cross-functional influence, serving as the internal architect of Genmab's advanced analytics and AI capability within BI&A. The role spans both building — standing up AI tools, analytics frameworks, and data products — and governing — establishing standards, oversight structures, and responsible AI practices that ensure consistent, high-quality output across forecasting, competitive intelligence, primary market research, and commercial analytics. This is not a support function. The Director, Global Commercialization, Advanced Analytics & AI will shape how Genmab's commercial teams make decisions, allocate resources, and measure performance — with AI and advanced analytics as the enabling mechanism. Work arrangement: This role offers flexibility to work away from the office for 20%–40% of a typical schedule. Employees may use this work schedule in increments of single days or multiple consecutive days, provided it does not exceed 40% within a 60-day period, and is approved by the hiring manager. Key Responsibilities: AI Capability Build and Deployment Identify, evaluate, and deploy AI-enabled tools and analytics capabilities that materially improve the speed, quality, and consistency of commercial decision-making within BI&A. Partner with internal technology stakeholders and external vendors to define the AI product roadmap for BI&A, prioritizing use cases with the highest commercial impact across forecasting, CI, PMR, and performance analytics. Develop and deploy advanced analytics solutions — including predictive models, NLP-based intelligence tools, and AI-assisted forecasting — that become embedded in day-to-day BI&A workflows. Evaluate and integrate emerging AI platforms (including tools such as Frontier and others in the GCO ecosystem) to determine fit, scalability, and governance requirements before enterprise adoption. Build reusable frameworks, prompt libraries, and analytical templates that enable BI&A team members to leverage AI effectively without requiring deep technical expertise. Governance and Responsible AI Establish and maintain an AI governance framework for BI&A — covering data quality standards, model validation, output review protocols, privacy compliance, and responsible use guidelines consistent with Genmab's enterprise policies. Define clear standards for when and how AI-generated outputs are used in commercial decision-making, ensuring transparency, auditability, and appropriate human oversight. Serve as BI&A's primary point of accountability for AI risk identification and mitigation, partnering with Legal, Compliance, and Digital & Technology to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory expectations. Develop and maintain documentation and training resources that enable consistent, compliant AI use across all BI&A capabilities. Commercial Analytics and Decision Support Translate complex commercial data — spanning syndicated sources (IQVIA, Symphony), patient-level analytics, primary market research, and competitive intelligence — into AI-augmented insights that drive faster and more confident decision-making. Collaborate with Forecasting, CI, PMR, and Analytics leads within BI&A to identify where AI can reduce cycle time, improve accuracy, or expand analytical depth without compromising integrity. Support the development of executive-ready commercial narratives by enabling AI-assisted synthesis, scenario modeling, and performance reporting at the brand, portfolio, and enterprise level. Contribute to Long-Range Planning, brand planning, and governance body deliverables (CDT, PFB) by embedding AI-enabled analytical capabilities into established commercial planning processes. Cross-Functional Influence and Stakeholder Partnership Operate as a trusted internal advisor on AI and advanced analytics to BI&A leadership and GCO commercial partners — influencing priorities, investments, and ways of working without direct people management authority. Build strong dotted-line relationships across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Finance, and Digital & Technology to ensure advanced analytics and AI capabilities are aligned with broader organizational needs. Represent BI&A in enterprise-wide AI and data strategy discussions, ensuring the commercial analytics perspective is reflected in platform decisions and technology investments. Communicate complex AI concepts and analytical frameworks clearly to non-technical commercial audiences, building organizational confidence in AI-enabled decision-making. Ideal Candidate Profile The Director, Global Commercialization, Advanced Analytics & AI will be a rare combination of analytical depth, AI fluency, and commercial acumen. The successful candidate will have the intellectual credibility to earn trust among senior analytics professionals and the communication skills to make AI accessible and actionable for commercial leaders who are not technical by background. This individual thrives in a build environment — energized by the challenge of creating something new, comfortable with ambiguity, and capable of driving progress without a large team or pre-existing infrastructure. They bring a governance mindset alongside a builder's instinct, understanding that sustainable AI capability requires rigor, documentation, and oversight — not just deployment speed. Experience and Qualifications: 12+ years of progressive experience in commercial analytics, data science, or business intelligence within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry. Demonstrated experience deploying AI and advanced analytics tools in a commercial or business intelligence context — including hands-on work with LLMs, NLP, predictive modeling, or AI-assisted analytics platforms. Deep understanding of pharmaceutical commercial data sources, including IQVIA, Symphony Health, patient-level claims data, EHR, and specialty pharmacy data. Experience establishing data governance frameworks, AI use standards, or analytics quality protocols in a regulated industry context. Proven ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable business recommendations for executive audiences. Experience working within or alongside commercial functions including Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, Primary Market Research, and/or Commercial Analytics. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Data Science, Analytics, Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline strongly preferred. Leadership Capabilities Strategic Thinking and Vision - Defines a clear long-term vision for advanced analytics and AI within BI&A; anticipates where AI will create the greatest commercial value and builds toward it systematically. Influence Without Authority - Builds credibility through expertise and demonstrated results; navigates a matrixed organization to align stakeholders and drive adoption without formal reporting relationships. Commercial Judgment - Understands what commercial leaders need to make better decisions and prioritizes AI investments accordingly — not technology for its own sake, but capability that drives measurable business impact. Governance and Accountability - Holds a high bar for quality, consistency, and responsible use; builds systems and standards that sustain performance over time rather than optimizing for short-term output. Communication and Simplification - Translates technical complexity into clear business language; makes AI legible and approachable for commercial partners while maintaining analytical rigor. What Success Looks Like An Advanced Analytics & AI roadmap for BI&A is defined, socialized, and approved — with clear use case priorities, governance standards, and delivery milestones. A governance framework for AI within BI&A is established, documented, and operating — covering data quality, model oversight, compliance, and responsible use. Cross-functional trust is established: BI&A commercial partners view the Director as a credible, go-to resource on how AI can accelerate their work. Advanced Analytics & AI is recognized as a core BI&A capability — embedded in forecasting, CI, PMR, and commercial analytics workflows as a standard way of working. Genmab's BI&A function is regarded as a leader in AI-enabled commercial analytics within the biopharma industry. The Director has contributed materially to enterprise-level AI strategy discussions, ensuring BI&A's commercial intelligence needs are reflected in platform and technology decisions.
