Tasks include strategic and annual planning processes, strategic initiatives, policy management, budget development, employee engagement, community outreach, customer satisfaction, and financial and administrative functions. The Deputy supports the Director in all administrative matters and serves as an extension of the Director’s guidance, vision, strategic planning, initiatives, directives and business plans. The Deputy completes complex professional work and provides direction to the department through planning, policy management and coordination of staff, projects and activities. The work includes partnering with managers and employees to support relationship building, performance management, leadership, organizational effectiveness and culture as well as employee relations and recruitment. The Deputy of Administration performs the functions of the Director as delegated in coordination with the Deputy Director of Engineering and Operations. Examples of duties Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, or related degree Ten years of progressively responsible experience of senior-level human resources and/or financial management experience with accounting, budget, procurement, and/or treasury responsibilities Five years of management responsibility with direct supervision and management of others A combination of education and experience as described above Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license Must successfully pass a credit check Qualifications MBA, MPA or related degree Twelve (12) years of progressively responsible management-related experience in municipal government accounting, budgeting or finance experience and advanced management skills in the administration of personnel with proven experience at the senior management level Project Management certification Six Sigma certification and/or Lean practices Bilingual in English/Spanish Supplemental information Compensation and Benefits The Town of Leesburg is committed to providing competitive compensation and benefits, and opportunities to grow one's career, all while making a significant impact on the operations and quality of life in a thriving community.
