*This is a district wide position, travel to other campuses/locations will be necessary as needed.*     Job Description: Coordinator of Student Life Department:  Student Experience Reports To:  Dean of Students & Athletics  Pay Classification: 50 (Minimum Starting: $50,000) FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary: The Coordinator of Student life is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing student activities, student organizations, and intramural programming across the Hill College District. This position supports instructional and student services programming by responding to student needs, fostering engagement, and promoting student success, retention, and leadership development.  This position serves as an Student Government Association sponsor as well as works closely with the Dean of Students & Athletics to manage the gate and concession at events. Minimum Required Education:                                    Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Leadership, or a related field.                                                       Preferred: Master’s degree   Minimum Required  Experience:                                 Two years of experience in student organizations, student life, residence life, and/or a student services–related field.                                                      Two years of supervisory experience. Core Duties and  Required Knowledge:                Knowledge of student development theory, student engagement practices, and campus programming.                                                       Working knowledge of financial management and budgeting.                                                        Familiarity with strategic and tactical planning principles.                                                        Working knowledge of the Hill College mission and vision.                                                        Experience using student information systems such as Jenzabar.                                                        Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures related to student activities, student organizations, and intramural programs.                                                        Plan, coordinate, and execute system-wide social and educational student activities throughout the academic year.                                                        Provide system-wide oversight of student organizations in collaboration with the Dean of Students and Athletics.                                                        Collaborate in the coordination and implementation of intramural sports programming.                                                        Supervise Student Government Association (SGA) activities, including elections, meetings, travel to regional and state conventions, and fiscal oversight.                                                        Develop, manage, and monitor student activities and SGA budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility.                                                        Supervise staff and student workers; oversee Student Center operations and equipment maintenance.                                                        Collaborate with Residential Life on residence hall programming and check-in processes.                                                        Promote student engagement, recruitment, and retention through strategic programming and marketing of events.                                                        Coordinate with Institutional Affairs on promotion and communication of student activities and events.                                                        Maintain a positive and professional image of Hill College in all student engagement initiatives. Strategic Vision and  Program Development:               Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies to enhance student engagement and campus life.                                                         Align student activities programming with institutional goals and student success initiatives.                                                         Assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements to increase participation and impact. Collaboration:                               Work collaboratively with academic departments, student services, residential life, and athletics.                                                         Serve on institutional committees and workgroups as assigned.                                                         Build strong relationships with students, staff, and administrators across the district.                                                          Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a welcoming and safe environment that provides a sense of belonging for all.   Demonstrated Attributes:          Strong leadership, supervisory, and decision-making skills.                                                         Excellent public speaking, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.                                                          Ability to de-escalate conflict and manage challenging situations effectively.                                                          Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.                                                          Ability to lead change and manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.                                                          Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and continuous learning   Other Information:                        Travel to other Hill College locations may be required.                                                           Evening and weekend work required during designated student activity periods.                                                           Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.                                                           Security-sensitive position.   Physical Requirements:                 Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for sedentary work.
