Position Overview We’re hiring a Business Operations Analyst – Legal & Compliance to support the legal, compliance, and operational foundation of SemiAnalysis as the business continues to scale. This role is designed for someone earlier in their career with a strong legal background or legal-adjacent experience who wants to apply that training in a broader business operations role. This is a strong fit for candidates who have worked as a paralegal, legal analyst, legal assistant, compliance analyst, contracts coordinator, law firm staff member, in-house legal team member, or who have law school / LSAT-track experience and are interested in moving into a high-ownership operations role. You will help manage contract reviews, compliance workflows, corporate filings, regulatory trackers, vendor documentation, and internal policies. The role requires careful attention to detail, strong judgment, clear writing, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across legal, finance, HR, and operations. This is a full-time role based in the United States. Responsibilities Contract Review & Tracking: Support first-pass review, organization, and tracking of customer contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, consulting agreements, employment-related documents, and other business contracts. Legal Coordination: Work with external counsel and internal stakeholders to manage legal requests, contract redlines, signature processes, document storage, and follow-up items. Compliance Management: Track compliance obligations, certifications, required trainings, policy acknowledgments, regulatory deadlines, and internal controls. Corporate Administration: Maintain corporate records, entity documentation, state registrations, annual filings, board or member approvals, and related governance materials. Vendor & Customer Documentation: Assist with vendor onboarding, customer due diligence forms, security questionnaires, procurement documentation, and contract intake. Policy & Process Documentation: Draft and maintain SOPs, internal policies, compliance checklists, contract review workflows, and operational playbooks. Financial & Administrative Support: Assist with invoice review, expense tracking, vendor payments, and coordination with accounting, payroll, and tax providers where legal or compliance documentation is involved. Cross-Functional Operations: Support projects across legal, finance, HR, sales, consulting, and research operations. Data & Reporting: Maintain internal trackers and dashboards for contracts, compliance deadlines, filings, vendor status, and operational metrics. Requirements 1–4 years of experience in a legal, compliance, contracts, paralegal, law firm, in-house legal, consulting, finance, or business operations role. Strong preference for candidates with a legal or legal-adjacent background, including paralegal experience, legal internships, law firm experience, compliance work, law school coursework, LSAT-track background, or experience supporting attorneys. Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Pre-Law, Business, Economics, Finance, Legal Studies, English, History, or a related field. Strong ability to read, summarize, and organize contracts and legal documents. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage structured processes with high accuracy. Strong written communication skills and comfort drafting clear internal summaries, trackers, and follow-up notes. Ability to manage multiple deadlines across contracts, filings, compliance obligations, and internal projects. High ownership mindset with the ability to work autonomously and follow through on open items. Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential business, employee, legal, and financial information. Preferred Skills Experience reviewing or organizing contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, customer agreements, employment documents, or compliance materials. Experience maintaining contract trackers, compliance calendars, entity records, or legal document repositories. Familiarity with corporate filings, state registrations, entity management, or regulatory requirements. Experience coordinating with external counsel, vendors, customers, or internal business teams. Exposure to financial operations such as invoice review, budgeting, expense tracking, or vendor payments. Experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, compliance team, consulting firm, financial services firm, or high-growth company. Comfort working with tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, contract management systems, CRM systems, project management tools, or compliance trackers.
