Description The Department of the Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor across all areas of Earth and Planetary Science. We seek individuals who will lead world-class research programs and enhance the intellectual endeavors of the department and the university by complementing and expanding the expertise of the department. Ongoing research interests and activities can be found on the department website. Note: The Department is carrying out a parallel search in the general area of Earth and Planetary Materials for candidates whose research focuses on geochemistry, geophysics, cosmochemistry, planetary evolution, or related fields. The job posting can be found here: apply.interfolio.com/192883 Qualifications Completion of all requirements for the PhD in Earth or planetary sciences or a related field prior to appointment is required. Base salary ranges for these positions are: Assistant Professor: $120,000 - $150,000 These base pay ranges are for a nine-month academic appointment. Individuals may be eligible for summer salary. These positions may be eligible for a taxable moving allowance. This position is benefits-eligible.
