About the role
Description UCP of Maine is seeking an Assistant Director of Facilities to lead and manage all aspects of building maintenance and facility operations. This role involves overseeing facility-related services, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations, and serving as a key advisor to leadership on long-term facility planning and improvements. The Assistant Director of Facilities will also be responsible for supervising the maintenance and environmental services team, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment across all UCP of Maine locations. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs maintenance operations (budgeting, safety programs, OSHA, site repairs and construction, preventive maintenance and cleaning) for the purpose of supporting UCP services within established time frames in compliance with related requirements. Responsible for supervising all maintenance and housekeeping staff. Conducts periodic inspections of cleaning, maintenance work, repairs, work order completion and construction to ensure timeliness and quality work, ensuring that work is completed within regulatory and UCP requirements. Assure all preventive maintenance is completed to include water/boiler pressure, temperatures, sprinkler system, generator, lighting, building, grounds, pool, etc. Ensure adequate maintenance of property and vehicles including snow removal, lawn care, and maintenance. Ensure that fire alarm and sprinkler system are maintained to include monthly testing of alarm systems and quarterly inspections of sprinkler systems for all facilities. Ensure that safety training, fire and evacuation drills are scheduled and occur, as needed Coordinate all building repair projects. Lead the UCP of Maine Safety Committee in conjunction with the HR Department and ensure that facility issues that need attention are addressed timely and appropriately. Manage companywide emergency planning including training and exercises, documentation, updating, and compliance Requirements Degree in related field of study and two years’ experience in a facilities supervisory role or a minimum of five (5) years’ supervisory experience in a related position. Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with multiple parties for the best interest of the organization. Must have general knowledge of state and federal codes related to maintenance functions and the ability to research and obtain necessary information based on work being performed. A valid State of Maine driver’s license, reliable transportation with proof of registration and insurance and be willing to use his/her reliable transportation for work. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to maintain assigned work hours and, having sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
