Employed on a per-load-unit basis for a given semester or term. Sole contracted responsibilities are those activities required in the delivery of a course (e.g., mentoring/coaching, preparation, teaching, grading, office hours). In some instances, there may be some contracted responsibilities for advising, course development or meeting other departmental needs. The Department of Education at Messiah University offers Early childhood (Pre-K-4), Early Childhood/Special Education, Special Education (PreK-12), and Middle Level Programs (4-8). Advancing the mission of Messiah University, the Education Department educates students for a lifetime of intellectual exploration, ethical leadership, and exceptional professional practice within a complex world. The coursework for most of our Undergraduate programs is conducted primarily in person with occasional online coursework. Teach undergraduate classes on an as-needed basis. Create and maintain a course page in Canvas LMS structure; design and grade assessments of student learning; respond to students in a timely manner via weekly office hours and/or email. This course has two sections that meet every Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:00 am-9:50 am and 10:00 am-10:50 am. Responsibilities specific to the class taught will be communicated on an individual basis. Advanced degree or significant experience in the area relevant for the course that will be taught. Candidates must evidence the potential for strong classroom teaching and positive student interaction and mentorship.
