Notice of Schedule B Posting Position: 7th Grade Boys Basketball Head Coach (White Team) Posting # 4114 -West Ottawa Middle School Posting Dates: September 9, 2026 � Until Filled Reports To: Athletic Director Beginning: 10/19/2026 � 12/18/2026 Qualifications: Experience in coaching basketball Must be available after school Responsibilities: Attends athletic department meetings when scheduled. Submits an annual inventory of athletic uniforms and equipment that is used by his/her team. Maintains professional competency by attending clinics. Keeps the Athletic Director informed of any or all problems, before, during, or after all sporting events. Encourages athletes to excel in academic work. Submits an End of the Season Checklist in a timely manner. Issues, cleans, stores, cares and returns all athletic equipment. Oversees the safety conditions of the area when team members are practicing. Enforces disciplined behavior, code of fair play, and establishes standards. Reports all incidents to the Athletic Director. Establishes an effective relationship with players, parents, and administrators. Attends practices, games, and meetings punctually. Uses professional conduct, language, and decorum with players, opponents, officials, and fans. Works with the athletic director to maintain player eligibility information. Teaches individual participants in the skills necessary for the highest possible achievement in the sport involved. Each practice session is planned out ahead of time. Submits necessary rosters, physical forms, eligibility list forms, and training rule forms signed by the parents. Is a positive role model. Adheres to those rules and regulations as detailed by the MHSAA and Board of Education policies and regulations. Maintains team attendance records and medical emergency cards. Works to promote increased participation to improve methods, techniques, strength and endurance both in and out of season. Submits written criteria for "cutting" athletes at tryouts. Displays self-control and maintains a positive profile with officials. Provides supervision of locker room and training room. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is subject to environmental conditions. The worker should provide consistent and reliable in person attendance
