We also offer small class sizes, comprehensive teacher support, and numerous collaboration opportunities across the organization and within school sites.  _______________________________________________________________________________  Bright Star Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, pregnancy, or veteran status.    What You’ll Do: Basic components of the job description include (but are not limited to)   Family and Athlete Communication:  Using a syllabus, ParentSquare, bulletin, or other form of written expression, clearly and explicitly delineate the expectations for try-outs, practice, and game day within a week of being hired, and execute the expectations to the best of your ability (sample template will be provided)  Create and share a color-coded monthly practice/game schedule for players and families (Team Managers can be used for this task; a sample template will be provided)  Share communication with families and players at the beginning of each week via ParentSquare and Google Classroom (a sample template will be provided)  Share team highlights and scores with the school community (e.g. morning announcements) a minimum of twice per week during the entirety of the season (Team Managers can be used for this task)  Collaboration within the Athletic Department:  Confirm the calendar of games with the Athletics Coordinator and Dean of Operations within a week of being hired  Attend a weekly meeting for coaches with the Athletics Coordinator and Dean of Operations to review goals and objectives for the week (time will also be allotted to complete the essential duties bulleted in the Job Description)  Manage the team budget with the support of the Athletics Coordinator and Dean of Operations for uniforms, transportation, fees for Officials, training facilities, equipment, festivities like banquets, tournaments or scrimmages, and other expenses  Management, coaching, and mentoring of team and players:  Attend all scheduled practices  Attend all scheduled games  Adhere to guidance from Athletics Coordinator concerning which players are eligible to play, based on grades, behavior, and other factors determined in advance  Non-Negotiables for Coaches:  Coaches are responsible for collecting uniforms at the end of each season.  The estimated cost of one day of transportation is $440, and facilities must now be reserved and paid in full with Southwest College ten days in advance. Coaches must budget facility and transportation costs as part of their budget, as well as practice equipment and competition-related hydration and nutrition.  End-of-the-season banquets, tournaments, and non-essential apparel are not priorities for the  Season.  Coaches will meet with AD and the committee periodically to discuss progress throughout the season.    Who You Are: Desired Characteristics:  Develop, communicate, implement, promote, and monitor the highest expectations and standards to improve the overall athletic and academic experience of all Stella High students.  Develop, communicate, implement, and monitor the highest expectations and standards to improve the safety of all players and staff members through sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for self and others.  Proactively communicate with all stakeholders. These include the team but also extend to their families, teachers, staff, the administrative team, SST, and the overall student body.    What You’ll Bring Qualifications and Required Certifications High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of sport specific fundamentals, strategies, and player development. Ability to effectively supervise and motivate high school student-athletes. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, staff, and community members. CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain prior to season start). Concussion Awareness Training. Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training.
